LGES signs battery supply deal with Vietnam’s Kim Long Motors

Kim Long Motor and LGES signed battery supply MoU
South Korea / Vietnam - Battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution Ltd (LGES), headquartered in Seoul, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to supply batteries to Vietnamese commercial vehicle manufacturer, Kim Long Motor Company, for installation in a new range of electric buses.
The deal is understood to be for 1 GWh (gigawatt-hour) of LGES’ latest generation 46-series, NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) cylindrical batteries, over an undefined period. These batteries, measuring 46 mm in diameter and up to 120 mm in height, are much larger than the previous generation 2170-series and are seen as being more suitable for buses and coaches serving long-distance, inter-city routes.
