Mahle adds e-compressor line to Morristown facility

Germany / USA – Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany has opened a new production line for electrical compressors at its Morristown facility in Tennessee, USA, as part of its plan to localise products for the American market.
The German supplier has reportedly hired nearly fifty new employees to work on a line that will produce high-voltage air conditioning compressors for electric vehicles. A total of nearly 800 employees are now working in the Morristown location, primarily making steel pistons for light- to heavy-duty commercial vehicles. With the addition of the e-compressor line, components production for internal combustion and electric vehicles has now been brought under one roof in Morristown.
