UK – At the 2025 Cenex event at the UTAC Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire, UK (3-4 September), Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Larbert, UK (a subsidiary of Canada’s NFI Group), unveiled its first autonomous electric bus, the Enviro100AEV.This concept vehicle marks a significant step in the company’s connected automated mobility efforts that will take off in the next several years once regulation catches up to the technology.

.The Enviro100AEV is indeed an autonomous bus; it's based on the 8.5 m long, 2.35 m wide Enviro100EV and offers seating for up to 26 passengers. It is not yet a mainstream production vehicle, but a concept design at this stage intended for real-world trial deployments. Two units of the Enviro100AEV will enter public passenger service this autumn as part of the Connector project, which will link Trumpington and Babraham Road park-and-ride sites to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
