Ashok Leyland secures massive bus order from Tamil Nadu State

Ashok Leyland buses for Tamil Nadu

Chennai – Commercial vehicle builder, Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai has secured a major order worth INR183.80 crore (approximately USD 22 million) from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) to supply 543 Bharat Stage VI (BSVI)-compliant diesel chassis and fully built buses.

The deliveries are scheduled to take place between June and December 2025 under customary commercial terms, following a competitive tender process. This new order reinforces its position in the southern Indian market and strengthens its role in mass transit solutions.
