Canada – In its third quarter update, NFI Group Inc of Winnipeg, Manitoba announced that it has had to recall nearly 700 electric buses and coaches due to a potential fault with the battery packs.
Approximately 680 New Flyer buses and “a small number” of MCI coaches which have already been delivered to customers are potentially at risk of developing a fault in their battery packs. According to NFI president and chief executive officer, Paul Soubry, there is the potential for a “cell short circuit or other cell fault” in certain modules acquired from one of its suppliers.
