Continental exits TBR market in India

Continental has reassigned its TBR production in Modipuram to other segments.
India - Continental India Pvt Ltd1 of Haryana, a subsidiary of Hanover, Germany-based Continental AG2 has exited the Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) tyre business in India as part of a strategic realignment, shifting its focus to the passenger car and SUV tyre segment. The company has discontinued TBR production at its Modipuram plant in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, effective June 2, 2025.
According to the company, the highly competitive and price-sensitive TBR market in India did not provide profitable growth opportunities for its premium product line. As a result, Continental has decided to discontinue local TBR manufacturing and redirect its resources towards passenger and light truck tyres.
