DAF begins series production of New Generation XD and XF Electric trucks

DAF Electric - Truck Range

Netherlands - Dutch truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks NV, has started production of its New Generation XD and XF Electric models, built on its latest generation platform, extending the traditionally diesel-based ranges into the battery-electric segment. Assembly takes place in its purpose-built facility in Eindhoven, where battery modules and high-voltage components are integrated directly onto the chassis.

Designed from the ground up for electrification, the XD and XF Electric are aimed at both regional distribution and long-haul applications. Customers can select modular battery packs ranging from 210 to 525 kWh, delivering operating ranges of 200 to 500 kilometres depending on configuration and duty cycle. Power is provided by Paccar electric motors offering between 170 and 350 kW, with torque up to 2,400 Nm. DC fast charging at up to 325 kW enables rapid turnaround, while a 22 kW onboard AC charger is available as an option.
