MAN to assemble knocked-down electric buses in Azerbaijan

Signing of memorandum of understanding for local assembly of MAN buses
Germany / Azerbaijan – MAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of Traton based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Azerbaijan to set up local assembly and sales of knocked-down electric buses.
MAN will work with its longstanding local partner, Improtex Trucks & Buses LLC, to establish an assembly site in the capital city of Baku. Partially-assembled buses will be exported to Azerbaijan together with certain components1 to be built and tested at the facility before being sold to customers in the region. The knocked-down assembly operation will begin with MAN’s battery electric ‘Lion’s City E’ range of buses.
