Belgium / USA – Gearbox and e-axle manufacturer Allison Transmission Inc. used Busworld Europe in Brussels to showcase its latest innovations in propulsion technology for the bus and coach sector, highlighting fuel-saving and fuel-agnostic solutions designed to support the industry’s transition to cleaner, more efficient transport. Allison’s presentation featured its new 9-speed fully automatic transmission alongside the proven Torqmatic series, both engineered to enhance fuel efficiency, performance and reliability across a wide range of urban, intercity and coach applications.

The 9-speed fully automatic transmission, now in production and already equipped in Otokar’s Navigo Giga range, delivers improved performance, lower fuel consumption and reduced maintenance costs. Building on the proven durability of the Allison 2000 Series, the new design offers more than 50 percent greater gear ratio coverage and smaller gear steps for smoother shifts and higher torque handling – up to 1,200 Nm.
