Belgium / Germany – At Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels (October 4–9), Continental AG of Hanover, Germany, unveiled its latest innovation for city transport operators, the Conti Urban HA 5 NXT, a next-generation bus tyre developed to meet the demands of both electric and diesel-powered city buses. T&BB spoke to Leo Kolodziej (Head of Original Equipment Bus and Truck Tires EMEA at Continental) at Busworld, who said that the tyre represents Continental’s most advanced urban bus solution to date, combining sustainability with improved range and durability.

Designed specifically for urban and metropolitan applications, the Conti Urban HA 5 NXT is said to deliver “up to 25% lower rolling resistance than its predecessor, potentially extending electric bus range by up to 15% while maintaining excellent grip and handling in stop-start city traffic”. Continental says the tyre delivers “up to 15% more mileage and features reinforced sidewalls for enhanced curb resistance”.
