Daimler Truck NA consolidates Thomas Built Buses and FCCC under single division

USA – Daimler Truck North America LLC of Portland, Oregon has announced the consolidation of two of its subsidiaries, Thomas Built Buses Inc of High Point, North Carolina and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation of Gaffney, South Carolina, into a single division, called ‘Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicles’.
Daimler Truck NA says the new division “builds on the heritage and expertise” of the two companies by combining their capabilities as suppliers of specialty vehicles, including school buses, walk-in vans, and recreational vehicles, sharing certain aspects of their manufacturing operations and customer services. The two companies have a pre-existing relationship, as Freightliner Custom Chassis supplies the chassis for Thomas’s school buses.
