Hyundai enters JV with Algeria’s Global Group

South Korea / Algeria – Seoul-based Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) and Global Group of Algeria have signed an agreement to produce Hyundai’s commercial vehicles in Algeria as Hyundai continues to expand its commercial vehicle business around the world.

Under the agreement, Hyundai and Global Group plan to establish a new plant in the city of Batna, Algeria to produce HMCs full range of commercial vehicles, including the Xcient, Mighty, Solati and County models. The new plant is expected to commence assembly from 2020 with an initial annual capacity of around 6,500 units. Hyundai says it plans also to strengthen its sales and customer services networks through the joint venture.
