South Korea - Hyundai Motor Company of Seoul has confirmed it is moving ahead with the development of a production version of the Santa Cruz pickup truck, after years of speculation.

The South Korean company’s head of design, Luc Donckerwolke, told reporters in December that the design part of the process of the vehicle has been completed and that the next phase, that of developing a production model, is currently underway. Reports suggest production may actually go ahead as early as 2020 or 2021 in the USA, which is expected to be its largest market.
