Irizar enters city electric truck market with launch of ie truck

Spain – Irizar Group, the Ormaiztegi-based coach and bus builder, has confirmed its entry into the electric truck market following its first public showing of the Irizar ie truck at the Sustainable Urban Mobility Congress (SUM), which was held in Bilbao on February 22-23.
The ie truck, is a development of its dedicated electric mobility division, Irizar eMobility, which operates from a separate facility in Aduna, northern Spain. Irizar explained the ie truck platform is the outcome of an R&D project developed alongside Group FCC, which is a global provider of environmental services, building infrastructure and other technology services. As a consequence of this collaboration, the first prototype, equipped with side loading bodywork for waste collection has been produced. It is expected to reach the market in the next few months.
