BYD raises EV bus sales target in Japan

Japan / China - BYD Co Ltd of Shenzhen, China, expects sales of its battery-powered buses to rise sharply in Japan with demand initially coming from the 2020 Olympic games.

Shinsaku Hanada, executive vice-president of BYD Japan, said its buses are already popular in major cities such as Kyoto and Okinawa and he expects to sell around 1,000 units of the newly launched medium-duty 7-metre J6 model by 2024.
