Germany - Daimler Trucks & Buses of Stuttgart, Germany, the commercial vehicle division of Daimler AG, last month announced it is pursuing a strategy to offer only new vehicles that are CO2-neutral in driving operation (ie tank-to-wheel rather than well-to-wheel) in the triad markets of Europe, Japan and NAFTA by 2039.

Daimler Trucks & Buses’ said that by 2022 it plans to include series-produced vehicles with battery-electric drives in its vehicle portfolio in its main sales’ regions of Europe, USA and Japan. It added that by the end of the next decade (ie 2030 and beyond), Daimler Trucks & Buses is to extend its range of vehicles with hydrogen-powered series production vehicles. With this goal in mind, at the end of October, Daimler Trucks & Buses celebrated the world premiere of the FUSO brand fuel-cell prototype called Vision F-Cell at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan.
