USA / South KoreaHyundai Motor Company (HMC)  of Seoul, South Korea at NACV 2019 in Atlanta held in October this year unveiled two new concepts: The HDC-6 NEPTUNE Concept, a hydrogen-powered Class 8 heavy duty truck and a nitrogen powered refrigerated semi-trailer, the HT Nitro ThermoTech Concept in conjunction with its US trailer subsidiary, San Diego, California based  Hyundai Translead. While Hyundai’s commercial vehicle offerings are well-known elsewhere, this was the first time they have been shown in the US market.

This display of such a futuristic vehicle marked the start of the company’s plans of exploring opportunities to introduce Hyundai commercial vehicles to the U.S. market, whilst reinforcing Hyundai’s corporate FCEV 2030 Vision, which looks to further its goal of expanding and accelerating deployment of fuel cell technology. In December 2018, Hyundai invested USD 6.4bn to accelerate the development of a hydrogen society, looking beyond passenger vehicles.
