Spain – The Irizar ieTruck, developed by Irizar Group's Aduna-based eMobility division in conjunction with Municipal Services giant, FCC Medio Ambiente Company of Madrid, won the Innovative Idea category at the 2019 Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona last month. It was judged to have the highest qualities of accessible mobility, versatility and high energy efficiency for an urban service vehicle. The award was presented to FCC Medio Ambiente, who presented the project.

The ieTruck is 100% electric with permanent electric drive, plug-in charging, high-energy batteries, a low entry cabin which is pushed forward and is suitable for use in most urban service functions. Irizar claims the vehicle is economical to operate due to its industrial development. It was developed to provide an accessible electric mobility solution in performing urban services with the key focus being on air quality and environmental benefits including zero polluting emissions, low noise and a reduction of carbon footprint and maximising energy efficiency.
