Italy / USA - Nikola is now the new brand name for heavy-duty battery electric (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) tractor units from Iveco in Europe. This announcement was made at the Iveco Industrial Village in Turin earlier this month when the three month old partnership of Nikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona USA and CNH Industrial NV of London, UK – see T&BB October 2019 - unveiled the first zero emission, Nikola Tre tractor unit for long haul applications in Europe.

The new zero emission truck is to be based on the new Iveco S Way 4x2 tractor chassis - which itself only started production in diesel, LNG and CNG versions at the Iveco plant in Madrid, Spain this past July.
