Nikola & Iveco jointly reveal green hydrogen production and distribution network strategy for Europe

Italy / USANikola Corporation of Phoenix, USA, a technology start-up company focused on the production zero emission transportation solutions, at the European launch of Nikola Tre – a BEV and FCEV tractor unit – together with its industrial partner, CNH Industrial at the industrial village of subsidiary, Iveco SpA in Turin, announced its strategy to develop a hydrogen fuelling and BEV charging network in Europe suitable for the operation of battery electric and hydrogen-fuelled long haul tractor units.

Dale Prows, hydrogen supply chain director at Nikola, explained that one of Nikola’s key development programmes was producing hydrogen from renewable energy sources. In the USA, it plans to develop some 700 hydrogen fuel stations, whereas in Europe, it sees the need only to develop some 70 stations along key transport corridors into order to provide a pan European coverage – see timeline for stations development below.
