Daimler takes North American Setra coach sales in-house once again

Germany / USA - Daimler Buses of Stuttgart, Germany has announced it is restructuring its touring coach business in the USA and Canada. Both Daimler and the REV Group of Milwaukee Center, Milwaukee, USA have agreed to move the joint sales and service business into an independent company within the Daimler Group. Since 2018, the REV Group had been the majority shareholder of REV Coach LLC*, which was responsible for the sales and servicing of Setra touring coaches in North America.

Daimler Buses says in future it plans to operate its bus / coach business through its own business unit in the USA and that consequently, through this agreement with the REV Group, the sales business will be moved into an independent business unit within the Daimler Group. As part of this new sales strategy, the Daimler company plans to restructure of its US bus business in order to optimise use of the existing and well established infrastructure network of Daimler Trucks North America Inc; through this network it plans to provide a nationwide service and spare parts logistics. It will also include both new and used bus sales, said a spokesperson for Daimler. More details are to be divulged at UMA later this month.
