Iveco, FPT and Nikola to produce the Nikola TRE in Ulm with SOP in 2021

Italy / USA/ Germany / SpainIveco SPA and FPT Industrial with operational headquarters in Turin, Italy, the CV and powertrain brands of CNH Industrial N.V., and HFC/electric highway truck start-up, Nikola Motor Company of Phoenix, Arizona, USA, which formed a joint venture in 2019, have announced they are to manufacture the Nikola TRE electric tractor at Iveco's chassis engineering hub in Ulm, Germany.

This strategic and exclusive Heavy-Duty Truck partnership, which saw CNH Industrial last year take a USD250m stake in Nikola as the lead Series D investor, announced in December it planned to start the partnership with the Nikola TRE, a battery electric vehicle (BEV) heavy duty truck. This would be the first step towards the hydrogen fuel-cell electric (FCEV) model.
