Renault Trucks’ maintains truck market positions during contrasting year

France / Algeria - Renault Trucks SAS of Lyon, France (a Volvo Group subsidiary) invoiced 54,098 vehicles to maintain its market positions in 2019 in a commercial vehicle market consisting of a very dynamic first half (up 15%) and a less buoyant second half (down 18%), according to Bruno Blim, president of Renault Trucks in a televised interview last month. He said Renault Trucks had a dynamic first half, and a less buoyant second half marked by an  fall.

In Europe, in the medium and heavy truck segment (GVW > 6t), the French manufacturer held on to a stable market share of 8.5%; it also reported it maintained its dominant position in France with a 27.9% market share. In Europe, excluding France, it invoiced 24,544 units (-9 %), while in France it invoiced 24,621 units, a rise of 2%. International sales (exports outside Europe and sales of assembled vehicles in other locations) increased 10% to 4,933 units invoiced. The company stated it had achieved a historic performance in the over 16 tonne segments in Turkey, with market share up three percentage points to 8.8%.
