France / ChinaBYD France, a subsidiary of Shenzhen, China-based BYD Co Ltd, has delivered its first BYD electric coach (BYD eCoach) to Drancy, a district within the greater Paris region.

The eCoach was built locally in the BYD France facility in Allonne (near Beauvais) in the Hauts-de-France region. It is an all-electric, zero-emission 13-metre coach, which has a 59-seat capacity, now in service since November. BYD claims it delivers an average single-charge range of 200 kilometres and can be recharged in a few hours. The vehicle will provide the same services as a diesel coach for school, extra-curricular activities, and occasional transport services for citizens generally.
