Meritor re-organises main board of management - Chris Villavarayan named CEO & President

USA - Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan has announced Chris Villavarayan, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer will become chief executive officer and president on January 28, 2021. He replaces Jay Craig, who will transition to the role of executive chairman of the Board of Directors on that date. Villavarayan will also join the company’s main board. Meritor’s current chairman, William R. Newlin, will become lead director of the Board as part of this transition plan.

Villavarayan joined Meritor in June 2000, and currently serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer where he has global operating responsibility for both of Meritor’s business segments, Commercial Truck & Industrial and Aftermarket & Trailer. Prior to this global division role, in January 2018, he was appointed senior vice president and president of Meritor’s Global Truck segment.
