Nikola loses major US customer before first prototype is built

USA - Nikola Corporation1 (NASDAQ: NKLA) and Republic Services Inc (NYSE: RSG), the second largest recycling and solid waste provider in the USA, both of Phoenix, Arizona, have discontinued their collaboration on refuse truck development following agreement in August this year for Republic Services to purchase 2,500 battery electric vehicles.

The goal of the collaboration was to design and build an industry-first fully integrated refuse truck based on a zero-emissions battery-electric drive platform and body while also integrating multiple new systems into a new state-of-the-art vehicle.
