Germany / Sweden – Cummins Emission Solutions (a division of Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, USA), which has a development centre in the Marktheidenfeld, Germany, says it was responsible for integrating a new Dual-Dosing urea injection system into the new V8 range from Scania AB of Södertälje, Sweden. Cummins says this new dual-dosing system contributed to enhanced emissions control and improved fuel-efficiency for the most powerful truck engine on the road of 770hp (566kW) output.

Cummins says it is the first to introduce Dual-Dosing architecture to the truck industry, claiming it is a future-proof solution capable of meeting the next level of ultra-low Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) levels proposed beyond current Euro VI emission levels and EPA regulations in North America, as well as helping to meet CO2 reduction goals.
