Colombian truck market surges 74% in first quarter this year, but bus and coach demand still in decline

Colombia - According to data from the National Association for Sustainable Mobility (ANDEMOS) of Bogotá, the Colombian commercial vehicle market ended the first quarter of 2021 with total sales of 6,856 heavy commercial vehicles. This represented a 74% increase on 3,931 vehicles registered in the same period of 2020.

Once again, the truck segment enjoyed substantial growth, registering 6,500 units in the period, an increase of 83.4% despite the retraction in bus sales, which completed the quarter with registrations of only 356 units, against 831 in the same period of last year - a decrease of 57.2%.
