Quantron concludes successful trial of electric Q-Econic refuse truck in Ulm

Germany – Quantron AG* of Augsburg, Germany, a producer of electric commercial vehicles recently announced two weeks of successful trials of its Q-Econic electric refuse truck with the city of Ulm waste disposal company, EBU.

The trial was set up to test the suitability of alternative drives in continuous service for municipal use. EBU serves around 130,000 inhabitants in Ulm and empties around 900 waste bins every day over an average distance of 80km. According to Quantron, the Q-Econic offers an emission-free and quiet operation, an ability to handle severe road gradients and has sufficient battery range for daily operations.
