USA - Peterbilt Motors Company of Denton, Texas, part of Paccar Inc, has launched a new range of medium-duty trucks, Model 535 and Model 536, designed for the Class 5/6 non-CDL (non-commercial driver-licence) lease and rental markets.

Built for versatility and virtually almost any application, Peterbilt states, the Model 535 and 536 trucks are the result of a five year project. The new models feature robotically-assembled light-weight aluminium cabs creating an interior cab width of 2.1m (86.5in), a floor height of 40.5in (1.08m) and roof height (internal) of 74in (1.82m). Peterbilt says the cab interior is 8-inches (0.203m) wider than the previous generation cab and comfortably accommodates three adults. Ingress and egress, Peterbilt also points out, is improved with a 3-inch (0.076m) lower cab height, stair-style steps and knurled grab handles. Self-closing doors feature larger windows for increased driver visibility, three opening positions and a new triple seal for enhanced NVH. The Bumper to Back of Cab (BBC) measurement can be either 107” or 109” and the trucks offer manoeuvrability with a turning radius of 51ft (15.54m).
