Hino to launch low floor Dutro electric with walk-through capability

Japan / AustraliaHino Motors Ltd of Hino-shi (a Toyota Motor Corporation subsidiary) from mid-2022 plans to release onto the Japanese market, the Hino Dutro Z EV – the company’s first full-scale electric vehicle which is designed for ‘last mile deliveries.’

This variation of the Hino Dutro (also known in other markets such as Australia as the 300 Series) is a front-wheel drive light-duty electric battery electric truck with an ultra-low floor and walk-through area. It features a compact 50kW electric motor mounted under the cab, which drives the front wheels. A Lithium Ion battery is smartly packaged and is mounted under the floor of the cargo area in between the chassis rails, while the electronic control units and other ancillary equipment are located under the cab.
