Korean CV market recovers in first quarter of 2021 after previous weakened year

South Korea – South Korea’s commercial vehicle market over 2 tons gvw expanded by almost 13% to 59,221 units in the first quarter of 2021 from weak year-earlier sales of 52,495 units, based on data from various industry sources.
The country’s GDP grew by a better than expected by 1.8% year-on-year in this period after contracting by 1.2% in the fourth quarter of 2020, driven mainly by a strong rebound in private investment and exports.
