By Jim Gibbins - 1st June 2021

Germany - Andreas Tostmann CEO of MAN Truck & Bus SE officially opened the MAN eMobility Centre in Munich on June 9, 2021, for staff training in electric truck assembly and manufacture and for ‘eTruck’ manufacturing production and process development, with start of series production of electric trucks said to be sometime soon.

MAN explained that new parts and new components such as the electric battery and engine, high-voltage components and the orange high-voltage cables set the e-truck apart from its conventionally-powered counterpart. As a result, a new vehicle architecture and different production steps were required. The entire production process, including the start-up process for the vehicle, was now being developed and carried out at the MAN eMobility Center in Munich.
