Continental and Siemens collaborate to electrify 4,000 km of German roads

Germany – Continental Engineering Services, a subdivision of German automotive parts manufacturer, Continental AG of Hanover, has announced a partnership with Siemens Mobility GmbH of Munich to develop pantographs for electric-powered trucks, apparatuses which will be mounted on the top of trucks to connect them to overhead electric cables. This is part of Siemens’ scheme to electrify up to 4,000km of interstate highways in Germany, which is supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport.
