German transport ministry to offer up to EUR6.6bn to decarbonisation initiatives

Germany – The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur, or “BMVI”) for Germany on August 2, announced it was looking to raise funds and make available up to EUR6.6bn towards the purchase of zero-emission or low-emission CVs and related infrastructure. 

By 2024, the BMVI will be awarding EUR1.6bn to fund the purchase of battery, fuel cell, and (overhead line) hybrid electric vehicles, or the retrofitting of diesel CVs, and EUR5bn to set up the required charging infrastructure.
