France / USA Symbio, a developer of hydrogen fuel cell systems which is jointly-owned by Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin SCA (Michelin) and Faurecia SE and based in Fontaine, Isère, France, announced the formation of ‘Symbio North America’ in San Francisco, California. Rob Del Core has been appointed as General Manager of the new subsidiary company, bringing with him 20 years of experience in the hydrogen fuel cell industry.

The formation marks Symbio’s entry into the North American market, for which it will be offering a range of hydrogen fuel cell systems called ‘StackPacks’. The company showcased its 150kW variant at the 2021 ACT Expo in Long Beach, California, at the beginning of September. Symbio’s creation of a North American subsidiary is a step towards realising its aim of globally producing 200,000 StackPacks on a yearly basis by 2030.
