Cenex is the UK’s premier event for the future of mobility, combining insights from the Low Carbon Vehicle (LCV) and Connected Automated Mobility (CAM) sectors.

The ’CoacH2’ project, worth GBP1.2m and including partners such as Translink and Queen’s University Belfast, aims to produce an electric vehicle which can meet the demands of coach operation, including heavy payloads and long-distance routes.

The truck displayed at the show was a ‘Freightliner Cascadia’ 6x2 tractor unit powered by Symbio’s 400-kW ‘StackPack’ fuel cell system - developed for the “H2 Central Valley Express” project.

According to the terms of the agreement, Symbio will play the role of mentor to startups working in the hydrogen sector.

It is a 26,000-square-metre facility capable of producing up to 16,000 units per year; following a planned expansion to 40,000 square metres, it will be capable of producing 50,000 units.

The Dutch automotive corporation has entered negotiations to acquire a substantial stake in the Michelin-Faurecia joint venture and expects to complete the transaction within the first six months of 2023.

The French fuel cell systems manufacturer has set a production target globally of 200,000 units per year by 2030.

The agreement proposes that Symbio integrate its fuel cell stacks with Gaussin's ATM range of terminal tractors.

Elogen will supply the joint venture firm with a PEM electrolyser, which will produce one tonne of low-carbon hydrogen per day for Symbio at its projected facility in Saint-Fons, France.

The joint venture firm released details of its ‘Hymotive’ global strategy, involving the ramp up of production and research at its first Gigafactory in Saint-Fons, currently under construction.
