BYD unveils third generation electric trucks

China / USA – Chinese automaker, BYD Inc, based in Shenzhen, China has unveiled its third-generation editions of the multi-purpose 6F and 8TT electric trucks for the North American markets. Designed by former Audi and Alfa Romeo head designer Wolfgang Josef Egger, the trucks offer improved driver aids and safety, with integrated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), electronic parking brakes and keyless entry.

Both trucks offer a charging capacity of up to 185kW, which, with the extended range (ER) option, offer up to 200 miles on a single charge. This makes both trucks suitable for regional hauling and distribution work, with the larger 8TT also appropriate for drayage. Additionally, the 8TT has the option of fitting a body for refuse collection.
