US Department of Transportation announces USD2.2bn in grant funding to support of transit system operations

USA – The US Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced the availability of up to USD2.2bn in competitive grant funding for transit systems able to demonstrate additional pandemic-associated needs.
This additional funding may be awarded to operators of transit systems demonstrating that financial assistance is needed to cover operating expenses related to day-to-day operations, including cleaning and sanitation, reducing the spread of pathogens and maintaining essential staff levels.
