Cummins receives hydrogen project funding from US and UK governments

USA / UK – Power systems manufacturer, Cummins Inc, based in Columbus, Indiana, has announced it is to receive substantial government funding for its hydrogen programmes.

The firm is set to receive GBP7.2 million for hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engine research from the UK government, provided by the Advanced Propulsion Centre.¹ Cummins will also be provided with USD5 million by the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Office with the aim of automating the production of solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOECs).
