First Mercedes-Benz eActros electric truck rolls off production line

Germany – Daimler Truck AG, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has started series production of its fully electric eActros truck, with the first completed model rolling off the assembly line at the company’s facility in Wörth am Rhein.

The trucks are assembled alongside conventionally powered vehicles at the production facility, where they are then taken to the Future Truck Centre at the Wörth plant for the electric powertrain components to be added. The electric components are produced at different facilities across Germany and are finally assembled in Wörth. In the future, the electrification of further CO2-neutral Mercedes-Benz trucks will also take place here. Series production of the eEconic model, developed for municipal use, is scheduled to start in the second half of 2022.
