GAZ unveils battery and fuel cell-powered buses at COMTRANS

Russia – GAZ Group of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, has unveiled a host of 15 new-generation vehicles at the COMTRANS 2021 show in Moscow. Three of these vehicles are built on zero-emission platforms, with two fuel-cell buses and one battery-electric bus.

The largest of the zero-emission vehicles is the 12-metre Citymax bus, featuring a fuel-cell powertrain developed in tandem by Loop Energy and METTEM, as well as a ZF electric portal axle. The Citymax 12 is expected to enter service in Moscow in early 2022 after completing further road testing.
