Olectra Greentech to operate 50 intercity buses to Karnataka

Hyderabad/Karnataka – e-bus builder and operator, Olectra Greentech Ltd (formerly Goldstone Infratech Ltd) through its strategic tie-up with BYD Auto Industry of Shenzhen, China, has received an ‘OPEX’1 order to supply and operate 50 air-conditioned C92 12M intercity e-buses in the state of Karnataka. These buses will be running from Bengaluru to Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Madikeri, Virajpet and Davangere.
Olectra Greentech Ltd (OGL) emerged as the lowest bidder under the Centre’s FAME 2 Scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India). It will be a 12-year contract under which Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will pay on a per kilometre basis. KSRTC will pay the equivalent of USD$0.77 per kilometre to the operator which will operate the buses with their own drivers and only the conductor will be assigned by KSRTC.
