France / Germany – At Solutrans 2021, held in Lyon, France, on 16-20 November, MAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, premiered its new truck generation at a show, which was launched at the end of 2020, for the first time in France.

Features of the new truck generation include MAN OptiView, which replace mirrors with cameras; a cruise control system dubbed ‘MAN CruiseAssist’; Turn Assist, a functionality which is completely new to the TGM model; a new Euro 6E-compliant engine with new gearbox and dynamic torque adaptation; and new digital features. The company claims a reduction in fuel consumption of 3.7% over the previous generation. Moreover, the new generation is compatible with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), while the TGX and TGS models can run on 100% biodiesel (B100), allowing for further CO2-emissions reduction.
