Renault Trucks’ sustainability strategy: recondition, repurpose, recycle

|

By Bradley Osborne - 22nd November 2021

France Renault Trucks SAS, a truck manufacturer and subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, is pursuing a sustainability strategy that involves extending the life cycle of trucks through a rigorous circular economy of reconditioning, repurposing, and recycling of vehicles and components.

By reconditioning or “regenerating” trucks that have seen 300,000 to 400,000 kilometres’ worth of usage, Renault Trucks aims to add three more years to the life cycle of an average truck. Reconditioning of used trucks will take place at Renault Trucks’ main facility in Saint-Priest, within the Lyon metropolitan area.
