Germany / France ZF Friedrichshafen AG (“ZF”), a components manufacturer based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is expanding its fleet management tools for trucks and trailers across other commercial vehicle segments, including bus and coach and emergency services. The company showcased its ‘Fleet Management Solutions’ (“FMS”) at Solutrans 2021, held in Lyon, France on 16-20 November.

Set to equip more than 150,000 trucks and 50,000 trailers with its FMS cloud-based telematics, the company said the system was developed by its subsidiary, Transics. The package comprises a dashboard computer, trailer telematics, and remote diagnostics services, along with a new addition, ‘TX-FUELBOT’, an AI-based fuel optimisation programme which recommends the nearest and cheapest refuelling stop in real-time. ZF boasts logistics firm Lannutti Group of Cuneo, Italy as a major partner and cites strong growth in demand for FMS in Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, Russia and the Middle East.
