Germany - ZF Friedrichshafen AG (ZF), a components manufacturer based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, is developing a data and integration platform using Microsoft Azure cloud software in order to digitise all its industrial and administrative processes.

The ‘ZF Cloud’ will integrate and organise all the data supplied by ZF products and business processes in a single platform. This, ZF states, will allow the company to make use of digital tools to, for instance, provide end-to-end supply chain visibility and real-time tracking of materials and products, and remotely design and monitor products from inception to production. The company plans to roll out a production-line monitoring platform across its facilities worldwide following the successful conclusion of a pilot test at its plant in Diepholz, Lower Saxony. ZF Cloud will also collect data from ZF products on the road to support the provision of remote diagnostics to customers.
