Perrone Robotics and GreenPower developing new generation of autonomous vehicles

USA / CanadaPerrone Robotics, a robotics software company based in Crozet, Virginia, USA, has struck an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with GreenPower Motor Company Inc, an electric bus manufacturer based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to collaborate in the development of a new generation of battery-electric autonomous vehicles. 

The new ‘AV Star’ will be based on GreenPower’s manually driven ‘EV Star’ minibus and retrofitted with Perrone Robotics’ ‘TONY’ (To Navigate You) autonomous driving technology. The autonomous minibus will have a passenger capacity of 16, will be ADA-compliant (i.e., accessible to passengers with disabilities), and will meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
