USA Plus of Cupertino, California has selected Aeva Inc of Mountain View, California to supply its 4D LiDAR technology for driver-in and fully-autonomous trucks installed with its ‘PlusDrive’ autonomous driving kit.

The two companies have been working together since 2019 on the integration of PlusDrive with ‘Aeva Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave 4D LiDAR’. LiDAR is a method of determining variable distances between the vehicle and surrounding objects using lasers; Aeva’s technology can perceive objects and assess their velocity in real time at distances of over 500 metres.
