Daimler Truck sells German minibus plant in streamlining process

Germany – Stuttgart-based commercial vehicle spin-off of Daimler AG, Daimler Truck AG, has announced it is to sell its Dortmund minibus plant to German industrial group Aequita. With a purchase agreement signed in November, the deal is set to be completed in January.

The Daimler Buses unit says it intends to consolidate its business, focussing on the production of buses and chassis over eight tonnes. Production of Mercedes-Benz brand minibuses will continue at the Dortmund plant, with Daimler Buses and Aequita maintaining a close partnership in sales and aftersales.
